Focus:

This course is tailored for more novice/intermediate level students on the fundamentals and principles of how and why proper pistol deployment from a tactical situation is so important. 

The individuals will leave the course with the ability to draw from a holster proficiently in the “open carry” method. Presenting the firearm safely downrange while knowing their target, what is beyond it and putting rounds downrange accurately while reloading/moving effectively.

This course emphasizes competence, accuracy, and confidence in an inclusive environment. Topics covered include operation, handling, carrying, and employment
in both a dry and live fire range day. By the end of this course, shooters will have become more
efficient with their draw mechanics, presentation, understanding of sight picture versus sight
alignment, sight/dot tracking, various reload processes, weapons malfunctions/clearing malfunctions and multiple target combat-focused
engagement shooting. The day will end with a marksmanship competency evaluation and a more developed methodology on how to train personally.

-Body mechanics and Pistol Fundamentals
-Range orientation
-On range dry fire techniques to take home
-First shots and marksmanship
-Pistol reload mechanics (emergency & tactical)
-Pistol malfunction clearance
-Multiple threat engagement courses of fire
-End of day Evaluation

Gear List:

  • One or multiple semi-automatic handguns chambered in 9mm – .45 auto of your choosing
  • Red dot or iron sights are fine
  • Gun belt/Holster (users’ choice minus Blackhawk serpa holsters w/ the index finger release) NO IWB holsters
  • Minimum of 2 magazines (per firearm being used)
  • Weapon mounted light (optional)
  • Minimum of 350 rounds
  • Eye & ear pro (battery powered ear pro recommended)
  • IFAK recommended, water & snacks
  • Hat, boonie cap or helmet (recommended)
  • Weapon cleaning kit
  • Pen/notepad/paper if desired
  • Clothing you can get dirty in (check weather report for appropriate attire)
  • Knee pads (optional)
  • Plate carrier/load bearing chest rigs are optional but always welcomed. 
 

Disclaimer: The minimum required class size is 4 students. If 4 students are not signed up within two weeks, the class will be cancelled, and the registered students will be refunded their money. If a minimum class size is reached, no refunds can be issued. By paying registration, you are agreeing to these terms. However, you shall be given credit to enroll in other courses.

U.S. Citizens only- Must be able to legally own and posses a firearm- Valid State I.D. required.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
